2. Profile of ATSUKO OSA

At Wordsworth Museum ('91)

I was born in Tokyo.
In 1961, after graduating from University, I became a Junior High School teacher.
Ten years after, I retired from teaching and began to rediscover the calligraphy I had been taught by my father, Seisui Toyoda, a calligrapher.
In subsequent years I explored many styles of calligraphy.
In 1989, I travelled to China to study KIN-BUN at Beijing Central Institute of Fine Arts. My teacher in China was the famous Prof. Kang Yin.
Since 1991, I've displayed my works in foreign countries‥in U.K.,
Australia, New Zealand, U.S.A., Canada, Italy, France, Austria, Northern Europe, U.A.E.Dubai, Argentina, Czech and Spain, and Belgium.
